Hi John – before I ask you to chip in to help me win in Ohio and keep the Senate blue, I need to take a moment to explain why I'm in this fight and what your grassroots contribution would mean today.
I grew up in Mansfield, Ohio, in a community of ironworkers, carpenters, autoworkers, and electricians. I spent summers working on my family's farm. Today, I live in Cleveland with my wife, Connie, and our two rescue dogs, Franklin and Walter.
I’ll be honest with you, John: The Ohio I live in now looks a lot different than the one I grew up in. Over the years, we've seen manufacturing jobs shipped overseas because of bad trade deals, prices skyrocketing as wages failed to keep up, and hopes for a comfortable retirement dashed. That's why I've devoted my life to fighting for the Dignity of Work – the idea that hard work should pay off for everyone, no matter who you are, where you live, or what kind of work you do.
Every day in the Senate, I’m fighting for you. But I’m facing my toughest race yet, and I need your help to win. Will you chip in $5 or more now – split between my campaign and Jacky Rosen's – so I can keep up the fight in Ohio and defend the Senate for Democrats?

Right now, Mitch McConnell and the GOP need to flip only two seats to retake Senate control. Last year’s Senate race here was one of the most costly in the nation, and NBC News reports this one could be “even nastier and more expensive.”
That's why I simply cannot win this race – and Democrats simply cannot hold on to our narrow Senate majority – without grassroots support from folks like you. As one of the most vulnerable senators in the country, I'm personally asking:
Will you please split $5 between my campaign and Jacky Rosen's to help us hit our midnight fundraising goal, power our reelection campaign to victory, and keep the Senate blue?

This is gonna be a heck of a fight, but with you by my side, I know we can beat the odds and continue making much-needed progress for workers and families. Thanks for being on our team.
With gratitude,
Sherrod
