*rolls eyes* The epitome of governmental integrity
Friend,
Picture this: a man who takes ethics so seriously that he’s been under felony securities fraud indictment for eight years, and was impeached by his own party.
We’re kidding — but if you’ve never heard of the GOP Texas AG Ken Paxton, buckle up! In recent years, he’s made headlines after seven of his top aides and deputy AGs accused him of bribery and abuse of office. In fact, he’s so self-interested that his own party has brought 20 articles of impeachment against him, including obstruction of justice and disregard of official duty. It's heartwarming to witness such dedication to ethical practices.
MSNBC commentator Chris Hayes said it best: "Paxton is basically an ethical trainwreck." AGs must put the rule of law first. But Paxton can't seem to tie his shoes without finding another way to allegedly abuse his power and it’s made even worse when Republicans like Ted Cruz and Donald Trump drop everything to defend his actions.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
