John -

It seems like every year all of us here in the United States brace
ourselves for what will be yet another record-breaking summer of climate
disasters.

In the coming months, I'm sure you'll hear from the many organizations out
there funding disaster relief for communities affected by climate impacts.
That is essential work, but that is NOT what this email is about:

This email IS about the work we do year-round with communities on the
frontlines of the climate crisis to fight back against the fossil fuel
companies who are causing these deadly climate impacts to worsen every
year.

John, it's not
enough to fight these fossil fuel companies one by one. We need to
organize communities year-round to build REAL climate solutions that will
help prevent the worst effects of the climate crisis. It's the only way
we're going to win.

So before climate disaster season gets even worse, we are reaching out to
ask you to help build this long-term mobilizing work around the globe:

climate disasters year-round?

When the headlines about wildfires, heatwaves and hurricanes stop, our
organizers keep organizing. From collaborating with local climate
activists in the Caribbean Climate Network, to fishermen in Argentina
whose livelihoods are at risk as a result of fracking sites, to local
groups across the continent of Africa to build solar power that is fully
owned by the communities who built them, we focus all of our energy on one
goal — stop the worst effects of the climate crisis as quickly and as
equitably as possible.

John, it
wasn't long ago that when extreme weather hit, there was zero connection
in the media to climate change. Year-round organizing is exactly why major
news outlets are now starting to connect the dots between climate
disasters and the warming of our planet.

And the reality is that not all of us will be equally impacted by climate
disasters — now is the time for unparalleled international solidarity.
From the wildfires in Canada to those experiencing floods in Bangladesh,
this is our moment to band together to expose the fossil fuel companies
responsible for the climate crisis and create real climate solutions.

Year-round organizing is not going to generate immediate or short-term
results, but it WILL prevent the climate crisis from getting worse in the
long-term. That's why we spend 365 days a year doing it.

And your first
donation to 350.org will help build the long-term, community-centered
mobilizing power to create a just transition to renewable energy. So
please consider using the link below to make your
first donation today:
