I wrote an op-ed in the Pasadena Star News, was quoted in the Guardian, and appeared on The Young Turks radio show.

Hi friend,

I want to update you on a few news appearances I’ve made lately.

First, I wrote an op-ed in the Pasadena Star News about my run for Adam Schiff’s vacant House seat. Take a look and read more here.

Next, I was a guest on The Young Turks for their 2023 Pride Special. I spoke out against the recent escalation in anti-LGBTQIA+ hate, and the role of drag and trans people in activism to protect the LGBTQIA+ community.

“If you are not at the table, then you are on the menu. And queer people are very much on the menu right now.”

Last but not least, I was quoted in The Guardian about the anti-LGBTQIA+ protesters at the Glendale Unified School District last week.

As I mentioned last week, we’re coming up on our Q2 fundraising deadline and need to make a big push to make sure this campaign can reach as many voters as possible in the coming months.

Can you pitch in $27 to help us hit our goal by the end of the month? Small-dollar, individual donations are how we keep this campaign running—we greatly appreciate your support!

I’m fighting for racial justice, environmental justice, Medicare for All, free public education, housing for all, no more war, and abolishing ICE.

I’m so grateful to have your support in this campaign. Together, we’re going to win this.

In solidarity,

Maebe

About our June 30th fundraising deadline:

Every quarter a political campaign has to release its fundraising numbers, and June 30th is our upcoming end-of-quarter deadline. Current officeholders and advocacy groups look at quarterly fundraising when choosing who to endorse, using money as an indicator of “viability.” In a perfect world we’d have publicly funded elections, but right now a grassroots campaign like ours needs to raise at least $150,000 this quarter to show our strength, get key endorsements, and win. We don’t take any corporate PAC or special interest money, but with your grassroots support, this goal is within reach. Please contribute to Maebe’s campaign before June 30th so we can show the power of bottom-up organizing!

She doesn’t take money from corporate PACs or lobbyists, fossil fuel execs, war contractors, etc. In 2022 she was one of two candidates to make the general election runoff for CA-30. In 2024, with an open seat, she will win. Support Maebe’s grassroots campaign >>
