News from Rep. Chip Roy

Dear Mr. xxxxxx,

As I begin another busy week in Washington, DC, I wanted to pass along my latest update on what I have been doing to fight for you, Texas’ 21st Congressional district, and our country as a whole:

Presidents should not have unchecked power
The President of the United States was never meant to have monarchical power over the American people; that’s why the framers of our constitution designed a system of checks and balances.

For far too long, however, presidents from both sides of the aisle have ignored Congress and undermined that constitutional order by abusing the virtually unchecked power to declare national emergencies. That’s why I introduced the bipartisan “ARTICLE ONE Act” to end the era of unilateral power. This legislation would prevent the White House from wielding unchecked power and restore the constitutional order of the separation of powers.

There are only two sexes – U.S. passports should reflect that!
There are two sexes — male and female — and government documents should reflect that self-evident truth. Last year, the Biden administration began allowing those applying for passports to choose a gender that doesn’t reflect their biological sex.

This is ridiculous – passports exist to accurately identify people, not play pretend with radical gender ideology. That’s why I introduced legislation to eliminate the ‘X’ gender marker on US passports.

Anti-science, radical gender ideology has no place in our government. Congress must step in and restore sanity.

Border security is not racist
Open-border activists like to claim that border security policies, like Title 42, are racist. This is just ridiculous. Why is the Left so hell-bent on calling national security racist? What activists don’t like to admit is that many Democrats – including the Biden administration – support some of the most basic and sensible border policies, such as Title 42. Check out my question time from last week’s House Judiciary Committee hearing on Biden’s border crisis.

I am pleased to present the Exceptional Senior Award (ESA) to forty-two high school students across Texas’ 21st Congressional district.
