State Health Care Spending Growth Targets: 2021 Results and Next Steps

Earlier this year, the Health Affairs Council on Health Care Spending
and Value
<[link removed]>
released its recommendations for how the US can moderate health care
spending growth and maximize value. As a follow-up to that report,
Health Affairs is holding a series of one-hour webinars for our Insider
subscribers on each of the four priority areas identified by the
council: administrative streamlining; price regulation and supports for
competition; spending growth targets; and, value-based payment.

You are invited to join us on Thursday, June 29 at 1:00 Eastern, for an
Insider "Lunch and Learn" event focusing on state spending growth
targets.

The forum will feature a presentation by January Angeles, Managing
Director of Ballit Health, on the latest spending trend reports from
Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Oregon, and Rhode Island, and
include a discussion with leaders from two states on what is driving the
trends and how they are responding. Presenters will include:

* January Angeles, Managing Director, Bailit Health

* Sarah Bartelmann, Cost Growth Target & Health Care Market Oversight
Program Manager, Oregon Health Authority

* Diedre S. Gifford, Commissioner, Connecticut Department of Social
Services

The webinar will coincide with the publication of a Health Affairs
Forefront article on this topic by January Angeles. Health Affairs
Senior Editor Laura Tollen, who directed the Council on Health Care
Spending and Value, and Rachel Block, Program Officer at the Milbank
Memorial Fund, will co-moderate.

Date: Thursday, June 29, 2023
Time: 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Eastern
Place: Online details will be shared with registrants 24 hours in
advance of the event
