Friend,
If you have been following the news recently, you'll know we have had
a momentous week in New Hampshire politics. Speaker of the House Sherm
Packard and Senate President Jeb Bradley have outlined the profound
impact of our recently passed state budget in a powerful op-ed. I'd
like to take a moment to share their insights and underscore why this
budget is so crucial to our state's future.

Our Speaker and Senate President affirm that the state budget was
crafted with one guiding principle: putting New Hampshire families
first. We have created a plan that carefully balances the needs of our
communities with fiscal responsibility. This budget does not introduce
new taxes or increase existing ones. It is a testament to conservative
governance that respects the hard-earned income of Granite Staters.
AND, BY JANUARY 1ST, 2025 IT WILL MAKE NEW HAMPSHIRE TRULY INCOME TAX
FREE WHEN THE INTEREST & DIVIDENDS TAX HITS 0%.
This budget goes even further by providing unprecedented local
property tax relief. We're sending $245 million in Rooms and Meals
Revenue Sharing back to our communities. This move significantly eases
the tax burden on our families, strengthening our communities for the
future.
In education, we've ensured that state aid will benefit the towns and
students with the greatest financial need. Moreover, we're investing
in higher education, increasing state aid to both the University
System and the Community College System of New Hampshire, which will
help freeze tuition for New Hampshire students.
I encourage you to read the full op-ed to learn more about the
additional efforts we've made in mental health, substance abuse,
safety, and affordable housing.
