In the wake of Donald Trump’s indictment, right-wing extremists are once
again taking to social media to organize and spread violent rhetoric.

On Twitter, Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs told followers that the
indictment was a “war phase.” Louisiana Rep. Clay Higgins used
battle-planning rhetoric in a tweet where many heard echoes of the Proud
Boys and their recruiting efforts in the run-up to the Capitol
Insurrection.

John, what we’re
seeing right now from right-wing extremists on social media has dangerous
parallels to January 6th and so far, Twitter is doing nothing to stop it.

[ [link removed] ]That’s what makes Courier’s work so important. Our journalists are
working hard to call out this kind of dangerous, reckless misinformation
and hold bad actors accountable in a way that social media platforms
won’t, but they can’t do this alone. Will you chip in $5 now
to power our work?

In moments like today, where bad information is spreading quickly, the
work of our online-focused local news teams is more important than ever.

Our reporters publish in the same online spaces where misinformation and
bad actors thrive. That means we bring trustworthy, accessible information
directly to the communities that need it most

John, our work
is fueled by grassroots donations from folks like you. Your support allows
us to hire and retain talented journalists and spread their work far and
wide. We don’t use paywalls. That means our news is available to anyone
who wants to read it.

[ [link removed] ]Right now, our news teams have their work cut out for them and they
need the resources to keep up as the charges against Trump play out. Will
you chip in $5 to power our team?
