📝 NOTE FROM THE CHAIR 📝

My son got married this weekend and Clinton hosted the Tailgate N' Tallboys at Riverview Park, so my week was full of last-minute wedding planning and finding places for all of their guests to stay with our friends and neighbors after the local hotels filled up with festivalgoers.

We’re fully staffed at IDP headquarters now. Paige Godden (Communications Director) and Dawson McNamara-Bloom (Rapid Response Director) made it through their first week, and I’m confident that our new IDP team will be unstoppable.

I want to thank Senator Zach Wahls for his hard work and leadership over the past few years. I really appreciate his efforts to bring together all of the forces dedicated to electing Democrats in the state of Iowa. Zach stood up for Iowans and held Republicans accountable for their dangerous and divisive legislation. From the time he was a teenager, he has always been a champion for Iowans, prioritizing people over politics. I know he will continue to fight for Iowans and lift up Democratic values.

I’ve known Senator Pam Jochum for years, and I’m confident she will help lead the Iowa Senate Democrats to victory. I look forward to working closely with Pam as we continue to build a strong, vibrant, and accepting Democratic Party that stands up for middle-class Iowans by fighting for living wages, world-class public education, affordable health care, equality, and opportunity for all.

🖥️ AT THE IDP OFFICE 🖥️
We've got some new faces in the office now – meet Paige and Dawson!

Paige Godden (Communications Director) is a native Iowan. She grew up in Algona and received her Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State University. She spent nearly a decade working for various newspapers in western Iowa before joining the Iowa Starting Line team to cover the 2020 Iowa Caucuses. She has since served as communications director for former Rep. Cindy Axne (IA-03).

Dawson McNamara-Bloom (Rapid Response Director) is an alum of Brandeis University and now joins the Iowa Democrats to hold Republicans accountable in the upcoming 2024 election cycle. Before joining the Iowa Dems, Dawson was the deputy communications director for Annette Taddeo (FL-27) and helped run Amy Laufer’s State House race in Virginia.
