Indivisibles,

As more details of Trump’s indictment come to light, the country continues
to be amazed at the depths of carelessness, selfishness, and ineptitude
shown by the current front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential
nomination when it comes to national security. If you want a brilliant
rundown of the situation, [ [link removed] ]here’s a video from Indivisible Action’s
Director of Democracy Policy, Meagan Hatcher-Mays, breaking down the
charges ([ [link removed] ]here’s a text version of Meagan’s video if that’s more your
style).

In short, whether it was seemingly pushing his lawyers to lie about the
documents, sharing top secret documents multiple times with civilians who
lacked clearance, or HIDING THEM IN A BATHROOM ([ [link removed] ]we couldn’t make this
up if we wanted to), Trump’s complete disregard for the potential risks
within and irresponsibility of willfully holding onto classified documents
in an unsecure setting would be baffling if it were any other politician.

But, of course, it’s not. Trump is the leading candidate for the 2024
Republican nomination and leader of the cult of MAGA. Republicans, the
party of national security and “but her emails,” are rallying around the
former president:

[4]Tweet from Rep Biggs reads: We have now reached a war phase. Eye for an
eye.

[5]Tweet from Rep Higgins reads: President Trump Said he has 'been
summoned to appear at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday, at 3pm.'
This is a perimeter probe from the oppressors. Hold. rPOTUS has this.
Buckle up. 1/50k know your bridges. Rock steady calm. That is all.

That is two elected representatives dog-whistling violence and retaliation
in support of the former president. It appears that some extremist
Republicans will follow him no matter how flagrant his actions are.

But what about the rest of them?

The American people have not heard much from mainstream Republicans in
light of the indictment. Where do they stand? Are they ok with a former
president carelessly holding onto and divulging state secrets? The people
need to know.

That’s why Indivisible Action is holding a virtual Arraignment Day event
Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 13, for you to ask your Republican MoC: “Will you
support Trump as the nominee while he is under indictment for crimes
against our national security?”

The people cannot allow Republicans to hide from accountability and not
answer these vital questions about whether they will be complicit with
Trump’s wanton recklessness. We must ask them their positions, we must get
them on the record about it, and we must make their responses famous so
they can be held accountable for their stances.

If you have a Republican Member of Congress, here’s how you can help:

* Ready to go? Call your rep at 1-855-973-4252 and ask them: Will you
support Trump as the nominee while he is under indictment for crimes
against our national security? Find out where your representative
stands, and share it with the world. It’s important that everyone gets
the chance to see whether Republicans will actually stand against
Trump’s gross negligence and arrogance or whether they will allow him
to do whatever he wants regardless of the safety of our country.
* [ [link removed] ]Check out this guide to our Trump Arraignment Day of Action
tomorrow! Whether you want to call them, tweet at them, post on their
social media, or ask them in person, use this guide to get the full
rundown of our day of action, what we’re asking, how you can go about
it, and why it’s important.
* [ [link removed] ]Use this birddogging guide to ask your representative (or their
staff) their position in person. If you get the chance to see your Rep
in person or visit their district office, get them on the record! Make
sure to have another person with you who can record your question and
their response.

Trump’s hypocrisy, dishonesty, and self-serving bluster have been on
display since the day he emerged into public life, and they were only
compounded with his presidency. The American people deserve to know just
how far Republicans are willing to go to support his treacherous actions.
Join Indivisible Action in our Trump Arraignment Day action tomorrow,
Tuesday June 13!

[ [link removed] ]Ask your Republican MOC the big question: Will you suppport Trump as
the nominee while he is under indictment for crimes against our national
security? Call: 1-855-973-4254

 Your Indivisible Project weekly to-dos

 1. [ [link removed] ]RSVP for the BIG TRUTHS WEBINAR: PRIDE…AND PROPAGANDA this
Wednesday, June 14 at 6:30pm ET/3:30pm PT. Hate-filled lies are spread
to drive our country towards fascism and our LGBTQ+ community is one
of the biggest targets of that vitriol. Across the country, almost 500
anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been proposed this year. Those bills are being
driven by misinformation that harms LGBTQ+ people just trying to live
a safe and fulfilling life. Join the Truth Brigade in learning how to
fight these attacks and defend the humanity of our queer friends and
loved ones.
 2. [ [link removed] ]Contact your senator and demand they cosponsor the Judiciary Act
of 2023. SCOTUS is stacked with justices handpicked by MAGA
Republicans and dark money groups, and it is running out of control.
This court has too much power to be ignored, and if we want our
government and its policies to reflect the will of our beautifully
diverse country, we must restore SCOTUS to a place of legitimacy.
Senators Markey and Smith have reintroduced the Judiciary Act of 2023
to add four justices to the bench and undo decades of conservative
court-packing. Call your senator and make sure they are signed on
today.
 3. When you’re done calling your senator, [ [link removed] ]call your representative
and demand they cosponsor the Judiciary Act of 2023. The MAGA-packed
court has gutted the Voting Rights Act, attacked workers’ rights,
chipped away at environmental protections, struck down gun safety
laws, and perhaps worst of all, overturned Roe v. Wade. We must do
everything that we can to unrig the Republican court. [ [link removed] ]Check here
to see if your representative has signed on as a cosponsor; if not,
call them today!

P.S. We rely on grassroots supporters to help fund the tools Indivisibles
use on a daily basis -- including the call pages on your to do list!
[ [link removed] ]If you're able, pitch in today to help fund our work and keep this
movement going.

[14]WE LOVE TO SEE IT!

***In the 2023 Indivisible Guide, one of the most important things we
wanted to see was our representatives show up as fighters! We need
representatives that work for the people, not just their bank accounts
and special interests! So, why not highlight those fighters? We Love To
See It! will highlight the work being done by reps fighting for everyday
people’s well being, advancing democracy, and/or protecting personal
freedoms. Let’s stand up for our representatives when they stand up for
us! We Love To See It!***

President Joe Biden

[ [link removed] ]Image of President Biden signing a veto. Tweet reads: Earlier, I
vetoed a Congressional Republican resolution that'd overturn commonsense
local police reforms in Washington, D.C. – like chokehold bans and limits
on force – passed in the wake of George Floyd's murder. I don't support
everything about this bill, but I think overall it improves both public
safety and public trust. And at the end of the day: I think Congress would
be better off spending its time coming together to pass commonsense police
reform legislation.

In late May, President Biden vetoed a Republican-led effort to overturn a
unanimous DC Council police reform bill that banned chokeholds and
instituted required de-escalation training, among other things. Much of
the bill mirrored the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act which has yet
to be able to make its way through Congress. White House Press Secretary
Karen Jean-Pierre doubled-down on the President’s position saying, “the
president has repeatedly said we have an obligation to make sure that all
people are safe and that public safety depends on public trust.” [ [link removed] ]Read
more about President Biden’s support of the DC bill here.

**Bonus Points: If you see your rep showing up as a fighter and want to
highlight them, reply to this email with a link to the story and we
might feature it in our next Newsletter.**

Republicans have doubled-down on their disgusting attacks on the LGBTQ+
community this year.

Through things like book bans, drag bans, and attacks on gender affirming
care, Republicans are stoking the fires of prejudice and hate against the
LGBTQ+ community to consolidate their base, win elections, and pass even
more draconian policies.

Democrats are fighting back all across the country, but none more so than
our LGBTQ+ legislators who are facing these hateful attacks beyond the
realm of policy as Republicans attack their very existence. Whether it’s
[ [link removed] ]Megan Hunt in Nebraska, [ [link removed] ]Zooey Zephyr in Montana, [ [link removed] ]Tammy Baldwin
in Wisconsin, or [ [link removed] ]Ian Mackey in Missouri, LGBTQ+ legislators are being
made to step up and fight for equal rights for themselves, their friends,
their families, and their children.

Let’s show them some love!

We want to take a little time this Pride month to ensure that Indivisibles
across the country are being vocal in support of their incredible LGBTQ+
legislators and leaders -- because we support their heroic efforts, yes!
But we also support their individual rights to exist and thrive without
the sort of hateful policies being pursued by the MAGA right.

Here’s what you can do:

 1. [ [link removed] ]Find out if you have any out LGBTQ+ legislators currently serving
here. If you want to highlight an LGBTQ+ leader who is not a
legislator (a journalist, artist, activist, etc.) we’d love to compile
those too, but we know that folks aren’t always sure if their
legislator is part of the LGBTQ+ community and wanted to make sure you
had a tool to find out!
 2. [ [link removed] ]Record a Soapboxx video that we can share! We are hoping to
compile as many of these videos as we can to show our LGBTQ+ leaders
that Indivisibles will stand by their sides in the fight against these
horrific attacks.
 3. If you’d rather write something, [ [link removed] ]use this form to share your
message of appreciation. Video messages are great! We love seeing your
faces and the leaders you’re supporting will be able to connect with
your honesty, but not everyone has access to a cell phone or video
camera. Use this form to send us the text of your appreciation so that
we can put it in a fun graphic to share.

It’s more important than ever that we are vocal and visible in support of
our LGBTQ+ leaders. As they are standing on the front lines, they need the
support of seeing that there is a community of activists standing with
them ready to fight.

Today marks the [ [link removed] ]7th anniversary of the Pulse Massacre where 49 victims
were murdered in what was, at the time, the worst recorded mass shooting
in American history. Our LGBTQ+ leaders are at the forefront of the fight,
and that puts them at the forefront of the danger. We cannot take the
burden they are carrying lightly. Take a moment of your day today to show
your support for the fight and thank your local LGBTQ+ leaders.
