We’ve all seen the numbers. Women on average still earn only 82 cents per dollar that men earn. And the disparities are far higher for Black and Brown women. What’s even worse, this atrocious number has remained steady for the past twenty years.

And the wage disparities only tell part of the story. Lower pay for jobs traditionally held by women (teachers, caregivers, service industry workers, etc), societal pressure to put family priorities first, and deeply ingrained sexist attitudes towards women have created systemic barriers that make life harder for women in this country.

Having witnessed the dehumanizing treatment of women first hand after fleeing the fundamentalist takeover of Iran, Sepi is relentlessly committed to fighting these discriminatory policies and inequities right here at home.

She’s ready to bring her bold fight to Congress to not only eliminate the pay gap, but enact meaningful policies that support women including: Paid Family Leave, Universal Childcare, wage transparency, and so much more.
