Dear John,

I wish you could hear how worried my patients in Alabama are. One told me of the nightmares she had prior to coming to the clinic about being turned away and denied the abortion care she needed.

Accessing and providing abortion in Alabama is extraordinarily difficult. The state requires my patients receive inaccurate medical information and forces them to undergo unnecessary ultrasound exams and waiting periods. Alabama also bans abortion after 20-weeks.

These restrictions, as well as those we’ve seen across the country, have zero medical value and create needless costs and delays that hurt patients.

That’s why I’m testifying before Congress today in support of the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA). The Women’s Health Protection Act would bring needed federal protection for my patients and safeguard access to abortion care nationwide.

WATCH LIVE: The hearing before the Subcommittee on Health of the Committee on Energy and Commerce will begin at 10 am EST today. [[link removed]]

Every patient, regardless of where they live or how much money they have, deserves access to abortion care. Today’s hearing will show us which of our lawmakers believe that, too.

Thank you for helping lift up voices like mine. I’m incredibly proud to represent my patients and supporters like you as we fight for vital legislation that will help protect abortion access.

In partnership,
