For years, extremists have been attacking libraries, public schools, and beloved authors — and now we are seeing hundreds of books banned in schools across the country.
This small (albeit loud) minority of far-right extremists has gained popularity among established conservative organizations and so-called 'concerned parent' groups claiming that they want to remove 'inappropriate' or 'divisive' materials. Instead, they're removing stories that are foundational to our nation's history, such as the Montgomery bus boycott or picture books demonstrating that families come in all shapes and sizes.
You can help stop this. Sign my petition to keep these and other important pieces of literature on the shelves.

Let's be clear: their attacks aren't really about removing inappropriate materials; it's about sending a political message and silencing those who challenge it.
Sign the petition and join the overwhelming majority of Americans who oppose authoritarian book bans.
I will never back down from defending the First Amendment, and I urge you to join me and oppose book bans.
Thank you for standing with me,
