Dear A.,

America’s Visa Waiver Program (VWP) enables citizens of select countries to enter the United States for up to 90 days without a visa. Since it was initiated in 1986, 40 countries have qualified to participate in the program — and now Israel is on the verge of becoming the 41st nation.

Waiving the visa requirement for Israelis visiting America reflects the strong ties between the two countries and will only deepen this strategic relationship for the mutual benefit of both countries.

Israel’s participation in the VWP would allow for faster and more efficient personal and business travel between the two allies. In a Senate hearing last week, it was estimated that over a three-year period, Israel’s acceptance into the program would generate roughly $3.6 billion in economic advantage to the United States and create 6,000 jobs.

AIPAC has been partnering with key leaders for years to help facilitate Israel’s entry into the program. While the two allies are working to overcome security and technical issues required for admission, there are political challenges that must be overcome as well.

The Biden administration and key leaders in Congress have been forward leaning to help ensure Israel is accepted into the program, but others are throwing up hurdles and trying to block the Jewish state’s access to the VWP.

We are lobbying senators to send a clear message of support to the administration ahead of a September 30th deadline to admit Israel into the program.

We are encouraging every AIPAC member to

email their senators to sign a bipartisan letter led by Sens. Rick Scott (R-FL) and Jacky Rosen (D-NV) in support of Israel's admission.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely,
