John,
Orca Action Month is already making waves. There is ample time left to celebrate one of our region’s most iconic animals. We still have opportunities to learn how to protect these highly intelligent marine mammals and the waters we share with them.
This year we’ll commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act. We’ll share success stories from the past half century and honor some legendary southern resident orcas who have lasting legacies.
Join us for a month of educational and celebratory events throughout the region.
June 14 and 22 – How boaters can help champion orca recovery (virtual)
June 18 – Marine Biologist Beachwalk, Tacoma
June 22 – Storytelling, poetry, and art in celebration of orca and salmon, Seattle
June 22 - Legacy Toxics: What Orcas Can Teach Us About What’s in our Environment (virtual)
June 24 – Seattle Summer Cleanup Series, Seattle
June 24 – Summer learning at the library: Puget Sound Orcas, Bremerton
