At the end of last week, we formally announced our campaign for California Lieutenant Governor, and the response has been overwhelming! I am so grateful to you, my supporters, for standing by me the past 20+ years and giving me the opportunity to serve this great state.

It was wonderful to see so many of my friends old and new at the California Democratic Party Convention in Los Angeles where we held our soft launch of the campaign. I left more committed and energized than I ever imagined. You can watch my speech to party delegates here.
Here's more of what I've been up to this past month, traveling across the state and living my values out loud.
Environmental preservation and combating climate change remain key priorities for me. I recently had the privilege of attending the California Community Choice Association Conference in San Diego, where I joined leaders from across the state to discuss innovative strategies for achieving our ambitious climate goals. It was an inspiring event that reinforced the importance of sustainable practices and clean energy investments. I will continue advocating for environmentally responsible policies that protect our planet for future generations.
Ensuring quality education and expanding opportunities for all Californians is a fundamental aspect of my work. We celebrated #NationalCollegeSavingsDay on 5/29, encouraging families and friends to take advantage of ScholarShare529's 529 Day promotion -- which gave every individual who opened an account between 5/22 and 5/31 an additional $50 or $100 bonus! This program in my office has been a huge success in helping Californians save for and afford a higher education!
Affordable housing remains a pressing concern, and I have been actively involved in addressing this challenge. Streamlining California Housing Finance Agency Mixed Income Program projects by pre-funding the entire applicant pool in one round (versus 3) has been a priority for my affordable housing agencies, which have fast-tracked needed transit-oriented development housing projects like Mirasol Village in Sacramento.
Boosting California's economy and creating opportunities for all Californians is a cornerstone of my work as State Treasurer and my campaign for Lieutenant Governor. I'm constantly traveling across the state to let folks know about helpful resources and programs that support small businesses. This last month I was in Glendale for their 2023 Small Business Summit!
