Gatekeeper Countries — Key to Stopping Illegal Immigration ([link removed])
By Viktor Marsai, June 6, 2023
Excerpt: Using countries as gatekeepers is only part of a comprehensive solution to mass illegal migration. The concept must be integrated into a much broader and complex immigration policy that includes physical barriers, human resources, deterrence factors, and the systematic application of the law (e.g., detention and expulsion). But it is evident that effective border defense is hard to imagine without the cooperation of transit countries.

Mission Accomplished at the Border? ([link removed])
By Mark Krikorian
National Review, June 6, 2023
Excerpt: The Department of Homeland Security has released border numbers that it trusts gullible and/or uninformed reporters will parrot. But the numbers really just highlight the White House’s long-standing strategy of funneling illegal immigrants through the ports of entry so they appear “legal.” In other words, the White House policy of accommodating mass illegal immigration rather than stopping it is working.

Republican Hesitation on Impeaching DHS Secretary Mayorkas Is Misguided ([link removed])
By Jason Richwine
National Review, June 5, 2023
Excerpt: The porous southern border is a catastrophe for the rule of law. Although Congress has legislated the types of immigrants the U.S. may admit and in what numbers, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has flouted those rules by welcoming millions of migrants without visas. The House should impeach him.
