For the first time in modern history, more than 100 million people have been forcibly displaced from their homes. This is equivalent to one percent of the world’s population. On World Refugee Day, this June 20, we’re calling attention to the millions of forcibly displaced people who are facing these enormous challenges.
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is on the ground in more than 70 countries serving patients who are often far from home. Our teams work in displacement camps and along key migration routes, providing comprehensive and free medical and psychological care to people on the move. But our work doesn’t stop there.
People make the difficult decision to flee their homes and leave with only what they can carry for many reasons. Whether they’re escaping violence or seeking a safer future for their families, MSF is there to provide the care they need—and right now there are over 100 million reasons for you to give in support of this work.
