John,
Christopher Luxon has once again been caught talking down New Zealand.
Tonight on the 6pm news, we heard Luxon saying New Zealand has become a “very negative, wet, whiney, inward-looking country”, adding that “we have lost the plot”.
This isn’t the first time Luxon has slipped up and shown what he really thinks of New Zealand. While overseas last year, he was caught at an event saying New Zealand businesses were “getting soft”.
Frankly, it’s an insult to the millions of Kiwis who work hard every day to grow their businesses and take on the opportunities ahead.
It's just another reason why we need to make sure Christopher Luxon doesn’t become Prime Minister after the election this year. But National has a huge campaign war chest - and polling shows it’s neck and neck at the moment.
Can you help us keep Negative National out of government by donating to our election fund? <[link removed]>

Labour is proud of New Zealanders and there’s good reason to feel optimistic about the future. We’re focused on backing Kiwi businesses, farmers and growers to maintain their competitive advantage and get ahead. You will hear more from us on this later in the week when our team hits the ground at Fieldays.
For now, if you’re in a position to chip in – please do. Polling shows that this year’s election hangs on a knife-edge. It’s close, and the prospect of Christopher Luxon becoming Prime Minister of a National-ACT Coalition of Cuts and Negativity is real.
Thanks,
Megan
