In an inspiring turn of events, the U.S. Supreme Court has rejected a voting map in Alabama that diluted the power of black voters.

For too long, we have witnessed the manipulation of voting districts to silence the voices of Black communities in Alabama.

For too long, we have witnessed grassroots activists and leaders take significant steps toward dismantling gerrymandering practices only to be pushed two steps back.

For too long, the dilution of our voices at the ballot box has perpetuated an unjust system that denied Black Alabamians the fair representation we deserve.

This decision is a testament to the resilience and determination of those who have fought tirelessly for fair representation. It provides hope that progress is possible and that our democracy can be strengthened by allowing equal access to the ballot box.
