John,
The near-disastrous debate on the debt limit a few weeks ago was terrifying for one reason – Republicans were playing with the livelihoods of the American people and using a potentially devastating collapse of the economy as political leverage.
We narrowly avoided the worst-case scenario after weeks of phony negotiations in Washington, and we already knew we didn’t have the GOP to thank for the ultimate agreement.
But this fight is not over. Kevin McCarthy walked right out of those negotiations and onto FOX News where he promised that his next project would be CUTS to Social Security and Medicare.
Republicans in the House are letting far-right extremists call all the shots, and we’re all paying the price.
That's why I’m running to flip this seat. Can you pitch in $10 to my campaign right now?
Nearly half of our seniors are living on less than $25,000 a year, so I understand how serious it is when politicians play around with programs like Social Security and Medicare that are CRUCIAL to their survival.
I’m an everyday Idahoan running to represent families like mine and yours – and I would NEVER engage in political games with the benefits people are owed for a lifetime of hard work.
This is a fight we cannot and will not lose. Social Security and Medicare MUST be protected – these programs are life or death. The most important step in winning this fight is getting Republicans out of Congress and putting power in the hands of representatives who care.
I want to be one of those representatives, and I want to work for you. Please, contribute what you can to send me to Congress.
Let’s get this done. Republicans want to keep playing games with your livelihood, but I won’t let it happen. I will never give up on working people, and I need your help to make sure I’m fighting this battle from Congress.
Onward,
David Roth
