Can I quickly explain something, folks?

Every three months or so, our finance team creates a budget for the
upcoming quarter and sets fundraising goals and deadlines to help us stay
on track — and one of those deadlines is just around the corner.

Next Thursday, we will close the books on our June mid-month fundraising
deadline. The next morning, our team will huddle to see if we are on track
to send a strong report to the Federal Election Commission at the end of
this month.

Our FEC report will be made public at the end of June, meaning that
everyone from Mitch McConnell to Wisconsin Republicans will see how much
we have raised and how many people chipped in over the last quarter.

Our numbers will be under close watch ever since a poll showed me up by
only one point against a potential opponent. If Republicans think we look
weak, you can bet they will throw the kitchen sink at us to flip the
Senate red. With my seat considered one of the most vulnerable in the
country, we can’t afford to come up short right now.
