Hi John, can I explain why this month’s deadline is one of the most important we’ve faced since the midterms?

June 30 is the end of the three-month reporting period for this fundraising quarter with the Federal Election Commission.

Under federal campaign finance law, all campaigns must file a public report every three months to show how much they’ve spent and how much they’ve raised, which is made public record and listed on the FEC website.

It’s routinely some of the biggest campaign news of the season, and is the most important data point that campaigns and Republicans’ dark money Super PACs use to decide where and how to invest.

In recent months, Republicans have launched numerous campaigns, and Mitch McConnell is growing more optimistic about retaking the Senate majority. Whether or not we hit our FEC fundraising goal will be a big indicator of whether grassroots Democrats are enthusiastic about defending our Senate majority and the White House.

Because this FEC deadline is so important, I’m personally asking: Will you chip in $10 toward our FEC goal? We need a stronger close to the month than we’ve started, and your support today will help us get on the right track.

Thanks for being such a dedicated part of our team.

With love and gratitude,
