Tuesday, June 6, 2023: I’m up early this morning and in the Washington studios of One America News (OAN) as I have an on-camera interview where we discuss a number of topics including the Fiscal Responsibility Act, gas stoves, and other news of the day.
Next, I head to a Digital Dialogue Forum (DDF) where I am the guest speaker and speak on current technology and related issues. DDF is a coalition of world-leading technology companies, widely regarded as Washington’s leading technology policy roundtable.
Once back at the Capitol, I head to our weekly GOP Conference meeting before heading to an Energy and Commerce (E&C) Communications and Technology (C&T) Subcommittee hearing on AM radios, a topic I discuss this week in Buddy’s Briefing.
Afterwards, I head to an E&C Environmental Subcommittee hearing on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Power Plan before heading back to my office where I meet with my good friend Don Munoz from Boston, MA, to discuss U.S.-Israel relations, before having a legislative staff meeting followed by a scheduling meeting.
After meeting with representatives from the American Pilots Association, I head to a Natural Resources Committee hearing on the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) speed restriction rule regarding right whales. Although I am not a member of the committee, I am allowed to waive on and, as the representative of the entire coast of Georgia, feel obligated to do so.
Next, I head to the House recording studio in the Rayburn Building where I record a video for the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) to discuss the importance of forests in the State of Georgia.
After heading to the House Chamber for our first vote series of the day, I head back to my office where I have meetings with Hapag-Lloyd, Georgia Center of Oncology Research and Education, American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living, and EarthEcho Youth Leadership Council. After a meeting with other members of the Georgia Delegation and the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce, I head back to my office where I meet with the Digital Therapeutics Alliance and the Krolikowski family from Savannah.
Next, I head to a fireside chat on cancer trials sponsored by the Lazarex Cancer Foundation followed by a roundtable discussion of energy policy with the American Council for Capital Formation (ACCF)-Batelle.
