[2]National Nurses United
I’m Alexandra Rojas,
the Executive Director of Justice Democrats.
A few months ago, there was a CNN headline that said “400,000 more
children are uninsured since Trump took office.” It made me sick. It still
makes me sick.
We live in the wealthiest country in the world. While pharma and insurance
CEOs reap record profits, millions of Americans are driven into debt over
medical bills.
It doesn’t have to be this way. In recent years, we’ve seen explosive
support all across the country calling for an end to this broken, corrupt
system. The people are saying — loudly and clearly — that we want Medicare
for All. And in order to win it, we’ll need to take the fight to the
corporate interests’ doorstep.
That’s why I’m so proud to join these powerful organizers from the Nurses’
Campaign, Sunrise Movement, and others on tomorrow’s huge National
Strategy Call. I want to talk with all of you directly about how
grassroots organizing can — and will — win.
[ [link removed] ]Will you join me online tomorrow night — at 8pm ET — as we debut the
next chapter in our years-long fight to win Medicare for All? This is your
chance to get in on the ground floor and build a truly special movement
alongside your friends and fellow volunteers.

If you’ve already signed up, THANK YOU. All I ask is that you make sure
you try to invite as many of your friends and peers as possible!
Health care is a human right. But for decades, lobbyists, executives, and
operatives all throughout the pharma and insurance industries have made it
their sole mission to deny millions of people the care they need.
They’ve spent billions over the years on lobbying in the halls of
Congress. They fund deceptive think tanks. They flood the airwaves from
coast to coast with fear mongering and attack ads. It’s a full-fledged
machine designed to keep the public in the dark. And for a time, it
worked.
But I’m pleased to say that their time is coming to an end. Thanks to
grassroots organizing — the type of organizing that we’re going to map out
tomorrow night — we’ve slowly pushed the needle on Medicare for All.
Today, it’s supported by the majority of Americans, including 119 members
of the House.
That’s because of you. Because of us. And tomorrow night, we’re going to
work together to build upon that historic momentum. [ [link removed] ]Please RSVP here to
join us. All you need is a working telephone or computer to participate.
Thank you for everything that you’re doing to power our movement. I know
we can win.
In solidarity,
Alexandra Rojas
Executive Director
Justice Democrats
