We've been sending a number of fundraising emails this week, so I wanted to take a moment and let you know why these messages are so important -- especially this week.

On Wednesday night, we're up against our last big FEC fundraising deadline before the primary election.

The last time we crossed an FEC filing deadline, we got out-raised by David Valadao who was buoyed by Devin Nunes's PAC and the national Republican Party.

We have a target on our backs, friend. And with ballots already in mailboxes, David Valadao has gone on the attack against us. It's crucial that we respond:

Will you make a $3 donation to help us hit our 3,500 donation goal? We need to send a strong message of grassroots enthusiasm -- your donation will go a long way.

The truth is, we may not out-raise David Valadao, but we cannot get drowned out by his attacks.

Our community needs to hear about our record of defending the environment, expanding clean water access in rural communities, and protecting Medicare from Trump's attacks -- all issues that David Valadao failed miserably on.
