It’s 2020 — not 1920, yet women still don’t have equal rights under the Constitution.
That’s simply unacceptable. And it’s time for that to change.
Today, we joined a coalition of 20 attorneys general urging Congress to affirm that the Equal Rights Amendment can now become part of the U.S. Constitution.
The ERA amends the Constitution to guarantee that “equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of sex.”
Last month, Virginia became the last state needed to ratify this constitutional amendment, but the Trump administration is arguing that this action comes too late.
Team, it’s never too late to ensure that women have equal rights under the law. Can you join us in urging Congress to pass legislation eliminating the Trump administration’s purported deadline?
Thank you,
Xavier
