Hi Friend, I hope your weekend is going well – it's been quite a week here at No Labels, so I wanted to make sure you were aware of some of the big news.
First up, Maine’s secretary of state attempted to intervene in our constitutionally protected voter-registration activities in the state by intimidating voters and stifling political competition.
We understand - and welcome - reasonable disagreement about the best way to heal the political divisions afflicting our nation. But no person or party owns any American’s vote, it’s something that is earned. That’s why I’m urging you to read this week’s op-ed in the Portland Press Herald by Sen. Joe Lieberman and Dr. Benjamin F. Chavis, Jr. and judge for yourself.
Then in Arizona, we filed briefs asking a judge to toss out a lawsuit filed by the Democratic Party against No Labels to keep potential competitors off the 2024 ballot. Check out our response to the latest update in the lawsuit here.
On Thursday night, we were proud to announce the newest member of our leadership team as Gov. Pat McCrory was introduced as National Co-Chair!
Governor McCrory has dedicated nearly three decades of his life to public service, and we are grateful for his willingness to lead No Labels - if you didn’t catch the announcement live or want to send it to friends and family, please click here to watch and share.
Finally, Peggy Noonan authored an op-ed published in the Wall Street Journal entitled, Don’t Count a Third Party Out in 2024. She asks readers, If Biden and Trump are the nominees, who’s to say Americans won’t decide on another option?
We all know our system is broken, but as a member of No Labels, you are part of a movement that is actually doing something to help fix it. As Democrats, Republicans, and independents - we have a responsibility to unify around commonsense ideals in order to solve our nation’s biggest problems. After all, that’s what democracy is all about!
Thanks again and have a great rest of your weekend,
Johnny Kunza
VP, Digital
P.S. we rely on donations from members like you to help keep this movement going so if you can, pitch in $10 or $25 today to No Labels 2024!
