Dear John,

Today New York City took a huge step forward towards making our streets safer.

The NY City Council voted to pass Brad’s groundbreaking legislation to combat reckless driving, launching a first-of-its-kind program to require owners of the most dangerous vehicles in the City to change their driving habits or risk having their car impounded.

Will you chip in today to celebrate with Brad? [[link removed]]

This was a true team effort. From those of you who signed our petition, to the Families for Safe Streets members who shared their stories at rallies and hearings, to those who spoke out online and used the “How’s My Driving” Twitter bot to identify frequent speeders and red light violators, to the City lawyers & DOT staff who worked with us to design a program that would stand up in court, succeed in making change, and scale over time, so many people contributed to making this program possible.

This campaign modeled the approach to collaborative governance that Brad brings to all of his work: partnering with directly-impacted people, grassroots advocates, number-crunchers, policy wonks, and legal-eagles to shape innovative, progressive policy to improve lives.

Will you give today to help Brad continue to do this work on a bigger scale? [[link removed]]

Thank you for all you do,

Team Lander
