John, the filibuster has GOT to go.

For years, I've watched Republicans use it to block debate on critical legislation, from safeguarding reproductive rights to commonsense gun safety reforms. And for more than a century, it has been weaponized to stall progress, going back as far as the Jim Crow era where the filibuster was used to delay civil rights and effectively kill anti-lynching bills.

So, while we've made a lot of progress as a country since then, some things never change. Today, Mitch McConnell and his far-right party are STILL using the filibuster as a way to destroy Democrats' attempts at progress and harm communities of color. 

John, if not for the archaic filibuster, Democrats would finally be able to pass bills to protect reproductive rights, expand voting rights, ban assault weapons and so much more.

That's why I have made abolishing the filibuster a key part of my campaign platform – but I need to know if you're in this fight with me. I'm counting on at least 5,000 democracy defenders to sign my petition to abolish the filibuster now, so please:

Will you sign my petition before it closes at 11:59 p.m. tonight to stand with me and call for an end to the archaic, anti-democratic and racist filibuster?
