After Bob led the effort to pass a ban on the sale of AR-15-style rifles, the gun lobby sued to block the law. Last week, Bob won. A federal judge appointed by Ronald Reagan rejected the gun lobby's argument.
Bob continues to win legal victories against the gun lobby. In fact, Bob is undefeated in lawsuits when the gun lobby is on the other side.
Despite the gun lobby’s strong opposition, we achieved a major milestone this year with the passing of Bob’s legislation banning the sale and manufacture of assault weapons into law.
This week’s victory will keep this law in place and help protect Washingtonians from gun violence. As Governor, Bob will bring this same level of dedication to responsible gun reform, including standing up to the gun lobby and racking up more wins.
Let’s be honest – the gun lobby doesn’t want Bob to be the next Governor. They’re tired of losing to him over and over again. That’s why they’ll invest significant resources against Bob.
While no single bill or ban will solve Washington’s gun violence, we know that Bob’s history of victories and his continued commitment to stand up to the gun lobby puts us one step closer to improving safety in our schools and public spaces.
