John, Matt Gaetz just made the anti-climate right’s next plan of attack clear:
“A lot of the IRA green energy stuff that we sought repeal of in the [debt ceiling bill] we will probably seek repeal of in other legislative vehicles. The farm bill probably wouldn’t be spared.” — Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.)

Folks, we’ve been seeing this trend all year: House Republicans have been hell-bent on stripping the key climate funding we secured through the Inflation Reduction Act, even at the expense of their own communities.
Representatives like Gaetz are so clearly out of touch with their own constituents that, despite the huge demand for the agricultural funding in their home districts, they’re choosing to follow the agendas of their oil and gas mega donors instead.
John, our Members won’t let Congress turn their back on farmers.
SEEC’s Climate and Agriculture Task Force — led by Reps. Chellie Pingree (Maine) and Kim Schrier (Washington) — is fighting to continue pushing the Farm Bill forward, and we know we’re going to have a tough battle ahead against our GOP majority.
John, we need your help to make sure these programs make it past anti-climate politicians like Matt Gaetz and the Freedom Caucus. Please rush a contribution of any amount so our Members can keep up the fight for our farmers and for climate action.

With agriculture responsible for producing 11 percent of US greenhouse gas emissions in 2020, it’s more important than ever to invest in initiatives like the Farm Bill that will help to mitigate these effects and protect the environment.
Can we count on your support, John?
