Last week, I completed my second 22 County Tour of the year with my sons Max and Jax in tow!

From holding a law enforcement roundtable in Hardin County, seeing the success of apprenticeship programs in Black Hawk County, to hearing more about conservation techniques our farmers implement in Fayette County – I enjoyed meeting Iowans across the district and will continue hearing from Iowans of all walks of life and bringing the stories I hear on the road back with me to Washington. It's the honor of my life to serve Iowans.

Meeting with Iowans in the District & DC

Allamakee-Clayton Electric Cooperative

It was great meeting with the team at Allamakee-Clayton Electric Cooperative to hear about ways to reduce burdensome government red tape, improve rural connectivity, and increase broadband access.

Recker Farms Wetland

I enjoyed visiting Recker Farms wetland to discuss their conservation practices and the importance of supporting projects like this. Farmers care deeply about their land and the environment and are the ultimate conservationists!

KMS Ag Service

Thanks to the Keehner family at KMS Ag Service for showing me the precision agriculture equipment they provide to farmers. During the visit we discussed how my PRECISE Act will help farmers access this technology to increase efficiency, productivity, and enivronmental stewardship.

Fareway Stores

I enjoyed meeting with Garett Piklapp, President of Fareway Stores, in DC this week. Fareway stores are a staple in Iowa and across the Midwest and I appreciated Garett's update!

Iowa Motor Truck Association

The Iowa Motor Truck Association represents over 700 member companies of all sizes. It was great to meet with IMTA this week to discuss how I can continue to support Iowa truck drivers who are vital to our supply chain.

Iowa Health Care Association

Advocates with the Iowa Health Care Association came by the office for a discussion on home health care services, workforce challenges within nursing homes, and how we can improve care for Iowans.

Facebook Live with Growth Energy

Emily Skor, the CEO of Growth Energy, joined me for an "On the Record" Facebook Live conversation on our work to support Iowa biofuels. I drive a flex-fuel minivan and am able to experience the cost savings of E15 and E85 at the pump when I fill up my tank. We'll keep working to expand the use of biofuels to lower gas prices and improve our energy independence.

New Bill to Combat Inflation

Too often Members of Congress cast votes on multi-trillion dollar legislation without a second thought for how it will impact the prices Americans pay for everyday goods and services. That's why I led the bipartisan Informed Lawmaking to Combat Inflation Act, legislation to ensure Congress considers the inflationary impact of major legislation before it comes up for a vote.

With inflation still bearing down on Iowa families, our bipartisan effort would ensure that Congress considers the inflationary impact of legislation before voting on it and imposing further financial pain on families.
