John,
Just yesterday, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Alabama voters in a case that was set to challenge equal access to the ballot.
In a political environment that is growing increasingly comfortable with challenging our fundamental right to vote, this represents an enormous victory for democracy and voting rights, not just in Alabama, but across the country.
This reaffirms what we’ve known all along – every voter should have the ability to participate in the democratic process free of discriminatory barriers. But as we celebrate this victory, we cannot turn away from the challenges we’re facing in North Carolina.
From restrictive voter ID laws to gerrymandering, our state has experienced attempts to suppress the voices of marginalized communities, particularly communities of color. With North Carolina’s new GOP majority in the Supreme Court, Republicans are more emboldened than ever to exercise power grabs at the expense of North Carolina voters.
We cannot afford to let this happen.
I’m working every day in Congress to protect and expand access to the ballot box, advocate for fair districting, and combat voter suppression tactics. But I need your support to keep up the momentum.
Will you support my campaign with a $10 contribution today?
