Folks – As you may know, I am the Chair of the Hate and Bias Prevention Unit. It’s critical that we build a safer and more inclusive New York so I take this job seriously.
Currently, I am in the process of rolling out 10 regional councils to bring together diverse communities locally to help ensure New York is a more unified, accepting, and tolerant place.
So far I’ve attended kickoff meetings in the Southern Tier, Central New York, the Capital Region, the Finger Lakes, and Mohawk Valley. This week, we launched kickoffs for the Long Island and New York City regional councils.
Each council has been established to help identify regional trends and priorities, empower communities to stand against hate and bias, prevent and respond to hate and bias incidents, and support local individuals and communities as they heal from the trauma of hate and discrimination.
Friends, I’m working hard to ensure that New York is becoming a national leader on hate crime prevention – together we’ll ensure that no one gets left behind in our state.
Thank you for your support.
– Antonio
