Frank Mrvan for Congress

Dear John,

As the grandson of a card-carrying member of the United Steelworkers, who spent over 50 years in the steel mills in East Chicago, I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Vice Chairman of the Congressional Steel Caucus.

Earlier this week, we held a hearing on the state of the steel industry, and I am proud to play a role in ensuring the domestic steel industry is able to thrive in our global economy.

We've made great strides in investing in our country's steel infrastructure, including through the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act.

We are also working to strengthen Buy America requirements to protect and create more good-paying job opportunities for American workers, and make sure all American workers can compete on a level playing field.

Northwest Indiana has been a hub for manufacturing industries for more than 100 years. I'm committed to making sure Indiana's 1st District can continue to support the ability of our region’s steel industry and all workers to provide for our national economy and our national security.

Thank you.

— Frank
