John, I’m
extremely concerned.

After holding our economy hostage, the GOP forced through a debt ceiling
deal that codifies the end of the student-loan payment pause that’s been
ongoing since the pandemic started.

At a time when people feel the squeeze from inflation and high interest
rates, we absolutely cannot afford to saddle graduates with this burden.
Student debt was a crisis before the pandemic started – and it’s still one
now. We can’t stop fighting to deliver relief for the more than 40 million
Americans with crushing debt.

That’s why I’m rallying members of the Progressive Caucus to demand we
extend the pause now and keep fighting to deliver the life-changing relief
we promised borrowers.

John, my ability
to lead these central fights in Congress is contingent on getting
