Happy Pride month, folks!

John and Teddy at Pride in 2005

That’s me and Teddy celebrating Pride way back in 2005!

Pride month is a time to celebrate the vibrancy, spirit, and courage of the LGBTQ+ community — and to recognize that we still have lots of work ahead of us to achieve full equality for all people, especially transgender and non-binary folks.

This year, Pride month comes at a time when Republican state legislatures across the country continue to attack the LGBTQ+ community — especially the rights of trans youth. And it comes just less than a year after the Supreme Court signaled it could overturn its Obergefell v. Hodges decision that legalized marriage equality nationwide.

Folks, we must remember that Pride began as a protest against injustice. The best way to honor Pride month is by taking action, so we’re asking: Will you sign on to our petition demanding that the Senate pass the Equality Act to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity?

LGBTQ+ rights are human rights — full stop. We won’t stop working to build a more inclusive and just society where everyone can live as their true, authentic selves in safety and security.

Thanks for raising your voice alongside us today in support of LGBTQ+ rights.
