Hi John, Jane Fonda here.
I wanted to take a moment to share some information about recent developments in the fight against fossil fuels and an urgent call to action. You may know already that over the last few years, I have dedicated my life to ending the era of fossil fuels.
Read on for more information about how you can join me in that fight, but if you’re in a hurry, RSVP now to join me on Thursday, June 15 at 8 PM ET to be among the first to plug in to our plan to March to End Fossil Fuels.

That means holding our elected leaders accountable for their role in perpetuating this crisis, no matter what office they hold or what party they support. Recently, I have been increasingly concerned about President Biden’s leadership on this issue. Since he took office, he has approved one new oil and gas project after another – the Willow project in Alaska, offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, and a constellation of new gas export terminals.
At each step along the way, the Administration has tried to defer accountability – citing one legal or political excuse after another to defer accountability as long as possible.
We have reached a turning point. To secure the votes necessary to pass the Debt Ceiling Bill, the president agreed to green light the Mountain Valley Pipeline, a dangerous and unnecessary fossil fuel project, and to weaken broader environmental protections moving forward.
He pushed through this deal after intense and vocal opposition from many sides – from frontline communities directly in the pipeline path to even more “moderate” members of his own party in the House and Senate. This is an alarming sign the president is prioritizing the interests of the fossil fuel industry and fringe elements of both parties over the people he was elected to serve.
Now, the whole world is watching what comes next. The UN Secretary-General is convening a climate summit in September, and it is expected that the “ticket to entry” for world leaders may be a commitment to move away from fossil fuels. We’re going to take that opportunity to demand the president and other world leaders commit to do the hard work it will take to transition all of our communities off fossil fuels for good.
This is where you come in. Join me and other special guests on June 15 at the 8 PM ET Kickoff Call for the March to End Fossil Fuels to be the first to know how you can get involved.

We will mobilize an unprecedented number of people in New York City in September, but we know not everyone will be able to be there in person. Whether you can travel to New York or not, we need your help! Join our kickoff call to learn more about how anyone can get involved right away.
I believe together, we will be able to hold our leaders accountable and change our course before it is too late, but we need to act now. I hope to see you on Thursday!
With Gratitude,
Jane Fonda
