June 9th, 2023: Weekly Newsletter | New VA Facility in the Crossroads! | This week, construction on the new VA facility in Victoria began! It’s always great to see years’ worth of work being put into action. The construction of the clinic is scheduled to be completed sometime in the summer of 2024 and I’m excited to see the project to completion. The new 27,000-square-foot facility will serve veterans across the Crossroads region by bringing additional resources for: -
Optometry -
Audiology -
Prosthetics -
Mammography -
Radiology -
Mental health Since I started serving the people of District 27, I’ve often heard feedback on how we need to improve services for veterans. This new facility will go a long way in delivering the kind of care our service members deserve. | I am actively monitoring the news regarding the indictment of President Trump by the Biden Department of Justice. The top brass at the DOJ and FBI continue to pervert justice and the rule of law upon which our nation is built. For years, the FBI has turned a blind eye to the overwhelming evidence of criminal activity of the Biden family while mobilizing the massive resources of the Federal Government in a fishing expedition against President Trump. They have worked to influence elections, spied on innocent Americans, and have weaponized due process against perceived political threats. It should not be overlooked that this indictment comes the same day that Congress reviewed a document the FBI has kept secret connecting former VP Joe Biden to a $5M payout by a Ukrainian firm linked to Joe Biden. As we move toward the appropriations process, funding a new FBI headquarters larger than the Pentagon should be a non-starter and we must do everything we can to stop forcing taxpayers to fund these nefarious actions. | Remembering America's Finest | On June 6th, we celebrated the 79th anniversary of D-Day — honoring the brave heroes who risked their lives and sacrificed everything to turn the tide of World War II on the beaches of Normandy. At the base of two flag poles at the WWII Memorial in DC is inscribed these words: “Americans came to liberate, not to conquer, to restore freedom and end tyranny.” Let us never forget this. May their memory be a blessing! | My office stands ready to assist any constituents in the 27th Congressional District of Texas with casework related to agencies such as the Social Security Administration, the Internal Revenue Service, the State Department, and Veterans Affairs.
