Dear John,
After last week’s events, I’m excited to be sharing a more normal update with you today!
I’m a few days post-surgery, and I’m feeling much better. I got back to work virtually from Minnesota this week – and it was great to check in with leaders and community members across the district, as well as meet with the folks on my calendar who traveled to DC!
I wanted to share an exciting development!
As your federal representative, it's my job to advocate on your behalf and work to ensure you can access the refunds, benefits and payments you deserve. This week, my casework team and I celebrated an important milestone: we have been able to return more than $1 million to Second District residents since January!
Reaching that milestone means that my team and I have been able to return a total of $3.6 million to the hardworking residents of the Second District since I got to Congress in 2019 – and we will keep working to put money back in your pocket.
If you or anyone you know are having difficulty accessing a federal agency like the IRS, Social Security Administration or the Department of Veterans Affairs, please visit my website at https://craig.house.gov/helping-you/casework and let us know what’s going on. My team and I are always here to help.
Here's what else I was up to this week:
Meeting with Scott County Leaders It was great to join elected and community leaders this morning with the Scott County Association for Leadership and Efficiency (SCALE) to discuss how we can work together to make Scott County a better place for all those who call it home. Thanks for the honor of giving you a federal update!
Discussing Farm Bill Priorities
I kicked off my week full of virtual meetings with Land O’Lakes! It was great to talk with farmer-owners about how we produce a Farm Bill that strengthens our conservation programs and supports all of Minnesota’s farmers and producers. And as you can see, I was able to join the group as they visited my office in DC.
Connecting with MN02 First Responders
Minnesota’s firefighters put their lives on the line in service of our community and it’s important we have their backs. It was great to talk with Eagan Fire Chief Hugo Searle and MNFire about how we can improve firefighter health and wellness. Looking forward to our continued work together!
Supporting Minnesota’s Addiction Recovery Programs
Breaking the stigma surrounding addiction is essential to ensuring the millions of Americans who need recovery services can access them. This week, I visited with Faces and Voices of Recovery to talk about the importance of post-treatment recovery services.
Behind the scenes with Rep. Craig:
I’m happy to report that my cast is gone and I’m back to work. I’ll be rocking this boot and a knee scooter for the next few weeks, and I should be able to fly to DC on Monday for votes next week.
That wraps it up from me this week. I’m wishing you all a relaxing weekend.
Until next time,
Angie Craig
Member of Congress
