Dear Members & Supporters,

As the heat rises, let’s hold the Tories' feet over the fire! Join us now as we head into an action packed summer of activity that will build back up the working class, strengthen our movement and finally see the back of this self-serving government through protests, strikes and celebrations of our culture. Together we will win!

Workers are striking back! Get along to the How We Win Strike Solidarity Benefit ([link removed]) this Saturday 10 June at the Rich Mix, Bethnal Green Rd, London, E1 6LA to help raise money for strike funds. Acts include Lowkey, Maddy Carty, Don Biswas, Barbarella, David Rovics and Tayo Aluko.

The benefit will be following the How We Fight- How We Win Rank-and-File Organising Conference ([link removed]) where hundreds of workers from across the trade union movement will be coming together to discuss the strike wave a year on and organise next steps.

Jeremy Corbyn will be speaking alongside Nicolas Galipedes, a French striker, Holly Turner, a striking RCN nurse and leading member of NHS Workers Say No, Darren Westwood, a Coventry Amazon striker, Georgeta Trasca, a striking RMT cleaner and many more. The full line-up and timetable of sessions can be found here ([link removed]) .

We’re in the midst of the biggest strike wave since the 70s, workers are leading the way and showing the power of collective action. We need rank and file trade unionists from across the different unions to come together to discuss how to coordinate better, link the struggles and make sure we don’t get below-inflation pay deals.

Book now for the conference ([link removed]) and for the strike solidarity benefit ([link removed]) .

Unite for a workers' economy say no more to rip off energy companies!

The “Big 4” energy providers (Centrica, E.ON, EDF and Scottish Power) made a combined £9.5 billion profit in 2021, up 84% from 2019. Read more here. ([link removed])

Their first action will be a demo outside the ‘Future of Energy Summit’ to demand an end to the unfettered profiteering within the sector and to demand our energy is taken back into public ownership. It’s time to STOP The Energy Rip Off.

Please join on Tues 20th June at 2 pm outside the Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street London, N1 0QH.

July 5th is the 75th birthday of our NHS, sadly it is not a time to celebrate.

Join us on 5th July to recognise the great success of the NHS in the recent past – and fight for an NHS fit to work in and fit for purpose for another 75 years and more.

This year also marks the 75th anniversary of Windrush Day – the arrival of the generation of Commonwealth citizens who helped to transform our public services and build our NHS. We plan to pay tribute to them and thank today’s diverse and multicultural workforce. It’s one of the things that has made our NHS great in the past – and we must make sure it continues to do so.

We need a fully public NHS – because this is how we protect the pay, conditions and it’s also how we protect it for patients too. It’s the only way the NHS will survive.

Speakers include:

Tony O’Sullivan – Co-chair – Keep Our NHS Public
Holly Turner – Nurse – NHS Workers Say No
Harry Eccles – Nurse – NHS Workers Say No
Ellen Clifford – DPAC activist and author
Onay Kasab – National Officer – Unite the Union
Chantelle Lunt – Merseyside BLM Alliance
Claudia Webbe MP – Independent

This year we are holding an event on the eve of Durham Miners Gala in celebration of striking workers and the importance of organised workplaces. At the greatest festival for the working class in the world, join us as we host an evening of politics and music with guest speakers from across the movement.

July 22nd sees The People’s Assembly come together to fight ever increasing levels of food poverty brought on by the Tories. With the highest inflation rates on food recorded in over 45 years, it’s clear that the government is determined to hurt people year around through heating or eating. Now it’s time to take action and stop the rampant profiteering hurting the most vulnerable in our society, spurred on by an incompetent and greedy government. Locally and nationally we will be fighting on this day against the sustained attack on the working class.

Calling on all ‘Troublemakers At Work’ to join for an important one-day event on 29 July at Friend’s Meeting House, Manchester.

This event will have a rank-and-file orientation: the labour movement is built and owned by the workers in it, not the paid officials or leaderships of unions.

Join if you want to:

* Win a pay rise

* Change something about your work,

* Start a union at work, or

* Kickstart an existing union at work

Tickets start from just £5 and can be bought here: [link removed]

October 1st marks the start of the Tory conference returning to Manchester. We need absolutely everyone reading this to come out in force and show this government that we will not tolerate their destructive, divisive and disgusting actions of the last 13 years. We have a whole programme of events planned for the time they will be there and our response must be deafening. Our message is simple: Tories Out!
