ADHD symptoms don’t go away when the last bell rings, but the support and structure school provide do, and the consequences are hard to miss. Lost items, impulsive decisions, social upsets and rooms so messy you’re all but wading through them. As parents we know how important it is to help kids stay on track during off-hours, but it can be hard to know where to start.
This week on childmind.org ([link removed]) we’re taking a look at how parents can help kids with ADHD navigate some of the big challenges they face outside of school. From important life skills like making friends and keeping behavior in check to the day-to-day details that are often a struggle for kids with ADHD, like getting organized (it can be done, we swear!), mastering safe driving, managing menstruation, and more.
