John,

Everyone, no matter who they are or who they love, deserves to be their true selves. But state legislatures across the country have introduced hundreds of bills [[link removed]] in 2023 attacking the very existence of the LGBTQIA+ community, particularly trans youth. As it stands, there are no federal statutes explicitly protecting LGBTQIA+ individuals from discrimination.

As a member of both the Congressional LGBTQ Equality Caucus and the Transgender Equality Task Force, I work hard every day to end workplace discrimination, school bullying, healthcare disparities, and other barriers that stand in the way of the LGBTQIA+ communtiy’s well-being. That’s why I support the Equality Act, to make sure that everyone, regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation, can live their life fully, without fear of discrimination.

Tell Congress: Pass the Equality Act. [[link removed]]

The Equality Act is the only legislation that explicitly protects LGBTQIA+ individuals from discrimination in a wide variety of settings, including:

* Healthcare
* Education
* Employment
* Housing
*Family planning

The rights of LGBTQIA+ Americans cannot be left up to state legislatures. The comprehensive protections enshrined in the Equality Act are necessary to safeguard the LGBTQIA+ community from discrimination.

This Pride Month, let’s uplift the LGBTQIA+ community and urge Congress to pass the Equality Act. [[link removed]]

Onward,
Ro
