While I always enjoy celebrating with LGBTQ+ Arizonans and cheering on the accomplishments of LGBTQ+ leaders and activists across the country, I’m also seeing this Pride month through a new perspective as Arizona’s 24th Governor.

As I’m working on the ninth floor, I’m seeing firsthand just how extreme and hateful Republican lawmakers are toward the LGBTQ+ community.

From targeting transgender children in schools to ripping LGBTQ+ books off classroom shelves, there’s seemingly no line Republicans won’t cross in order to stop LGBTQ+ Arizonans from simply living in peace as their true selves.

Just last month, I swiftly vetoed anti-trans legislation Republicans sent to my desk — and I’ll do it again, every single time.
