Cheyenne, WY - The State of Wyoming is looking for an innovative, strategic, and unifying leader to serve as the Director of the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT). ?The Director serves at the pleasure of the Governor and acts as the agency liaison with the Wyoming Legislature. ? The Director develops and oversees policy and regulations to help create a safe and effective transportation system for Wyoming. The Director administers the organization and operation of the WYDOT through the Chief Engineer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Technology Officer and the administrators of the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Support Services and Aeronautics. ?The Director sets regulations with the Transportation Commission, Aeronautics Commission and the Public Safety Communications Commission to meet statutory requirements and fulfill the Department?s mission. The Director serves at the pleasure of the Governor and will be expected to manage the budget, personnel, and policies for the Wyoming Department of Transportation. The Director shall do the following:?

Establish administrative policy for the department.?

Adopt regulations with approval from ?agency commissions.

Implement programs designed to minimize road hazards and loss of life.?

Upon request, assist a municipality, county or other local governmental entity with transportation projects outside the jurisdiction of WYDOT.
