Get your ?12 ticket for all-year access to Nottingham Castle
Nottingham Castle
I?m thrilled that the opening of Nottingham Castle is just around the corner on Monday 26th June, and visitors will once again be able to enjoy all Nottingham Castle has to offer this summer and beyond.
It has new admission pricing of ?12 for an adult, with the pay once, visit all year round ticket. Kids go free (15 years & under) - up to three children per paying adult - and carers are also free with their accompanying visitor. This is a particularly good offer for local people, allowing unlimited free access for a year after their first visit. Why not treat loved ones to gift vouchers [ [link removed] ] that give them all-year access to the castle?
Tickets give visitors admission to the museum and galleries, including the new interactive Robin Hood & Rebellion Galleries, along with museum collections and local Nottingham history. It allows visitors to also enjoy the grounds, Hood?s Hideout adventure play area, Caf?, Shop & Visitor Centre and Brewhouse Yard, which is newly reinvigorated ahead of the summer. It's one for the whole family, and everyone of all ages!

Fancy a film under the stars or head back in time with some motoring nostalgia?
Classic Car motor show Wollaton
Two outdoor events are being held this weekend for both movie and car enthusiasts.
There will be a screening of "Top Gun: Maverick" at the Victoria Embankment this evening (Friday). The Tom Cruise blockbuster has been selling out cinemas across the world and brings a dose of 1980s nostalgia along for the ride.
Gates open at 6.30pm for a start time of 7.45pm, with tickets starting at ?15.50 [ [link removed] ]. Bring a picnic (but no glasswear please) and camping chair to watch on a giant screen under the stars. The film is a 12 certificate and under-16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Meanwhile, over at Wollaton the Nottingham Motor Show is being hosted for the first time in three years on Sunday 11 June from 10am to 4.30pm.
The event will include hundreds of classic and vintage vehicles to see from the 1900s onwards, including cars, motorbikes, caravans and some of the latest models on the road today. There will be a small family funfair, plus food and drink stalls.
Entry is free but there is a ?10 charge to park on the day [ [link removed] ].

It?s an Ay-Up to more than 50 traders at Nottingham market next weekend
Ay Up Market
The popular Ay-Up Market, a celebration of Nottingham?s independent businesses, will return to the Old Market Square next week.
Building on the success of last year, the event will showcase local traders, entertainment and street food, including a licensed bar with musicians and performers. It will run from Friday 16 June to Sunday 18.
The event, which will host around 55 traders, is organised by Nottingham City Council and Nottingham BID with some of the funding coming from the Government?s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Plans to activate Broad Marsh streets take a step forward
Broad Marsh public realm Sussex Street
Proposals to activate streets around the Broad Marsh area took a step forward today with a decision to remove restrictions to allow trading to take place.
The City Council is looking to establish areas in the revitalised streets around Broad Marsh where businesses could set up to give a flavour of what to expect once the area is redeveloped. This will further enhance the gateway into the city centre, by giving the million people who pass though the area each year reasons to stay rather than simply walk through.
It could involve independent traders, food and drink outlets, entertainment including seasonal events and opportunities for local producers, suppliers and artists to showcase themselves.
We?ve made fantastic progress on our plans to completely change the look and feel of this part of the city. Streets that were once filled with traffic are now pleasant places to be, students are enjoying the new college, and the new bus station and car park are up and running in a modern building where the new central library will open later this year. Work on the Green Heart and Collin Street improvements will also get underway this year
We?d like to hear people?s views on the proposal to use parts of the site in the short and medium term for a variety of activities and hope that if there is general agreement, we can move this forward before the end of the year.
