Free Speech Coalition Asks Court to Block Utah Age-Verification Law

We are pleased to inform you that FSC has taken action by filing a motion for a preliminary injunction against the Utah age-verification law. This motion aims to halt the enforcement of the law until the case is resolved, and it has been submitted by FSC and other plaintiffs involved in the suit. In the motion, FSC presents a comprehensive analysis of legal precedents that have consistently struck down attempts to restrict access to sex-related content on the internet. *Age Verification*
Last week, FSC took action by filing for a preliminary injunction to block Utah's age verification law from being enforced while our case is pending.

* Texas passed HB 1181, a peculiar spinoff of Louisiana's law that mandates sites to display false anti-porn propaganda. It awaits the Governor's signature and will take effect on September 1, 2023.
* The Louisiana Senate passed HB 77, granting the state's attorney general the power to enforce the age verification mandate alongside private lawsuits. It is awaiting the Governor's signature and will take effect on August 1, 2023.

*Free Expression*

* Oklahoma passed a concerning bill that makes it unlawful for individuals who pay for a sexual encounter to publish reviews of the experience or explicit details on websites that promote such activities. This bill is blatantly unconstitutional and will take effect on July 1, 2023.

*The Good News*
Several age verification bills failed, including the other two Texas bills, device filter mandates in Oklahoma and Missouri, and a recently-introduced Alabama bill.
