USAF Plans to Retire the U-2 in 2025
The Air Force wants to begin divesting its fleet of U-2 Dragon Lady planes in fiscal 2025, according to the service’s 2021 budget request. The plan reflects a potentially sweeping drawdown of USAF’s high-altitude intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance aircraft, as it also plans to cut older versions of the RQ-4 Global Hawk.
