96 A Fellow Hoosier Jumps In I wanted to use the space here this
week to give a quick shoutout to a well-known conservative Hoosier who
had himself a big week.
Hoosiers will have plenty of solid choices
for president next year, there's no doubt about that. But Indiana's own
Mike Pence, our former congressman, governor, and vice president, kicked
off his campaign this week — on his birthday of all days!
Indiana has
direct connections to three presidents including William Henry Harrison,
Abraham Lincoln, and Benjamin Harrison, and six vice presidents,
including Schulyler Colfax in the Grant administration, Dan Quayle in
the Bush Sr. administration, and of course Mike Pence in the Trump
administration.
We're excited for the great state of Indiana to once
again be represented on the national stage, and wish our fellow Hoosier
the best of luck.
As always, we know he'll do Indiana proud.
Sincerely,
Chairman Kyle Hupfer

Governor Holcomb's Week That WasBuilding Stronger PartnershipsGovernor
Eric Holcomb poses with business leaders in Paris who have ties to
Indiana.
This week, Governor Eric Holcomb traveled to Europe to foster
international ties and pursue partnership and investment opportunities
across energy, life sciences, technology, the future of transportation,
and motorsports.
What he's saying: “Indiana’s economic momentum
continues to build, and I couldn’t be more energized to share that
message with our friends, partners and new business prospects in
Europe,” said Gov. Holcomb. “France and Portugal share similar visions
for building global economies of the future, and we see many
opportunities for innovation and partnerships across high-tech
industries like energy and motorsports that will create new
opportunities for Indiana and for Hoosiers.”
What this means for
Indiana: Indiana is home to more than 1,075 foreign-owned business
establishments, representing more than 40 countries and territories —
including 57 from France and 3 from Portugal.
In 2022, 32 foreign-owned
businesses committed to locating or growing in Indiana. Together, these
firms plan to invest $7.25 billion in Indiana, accounting for 33% of
total capital investments committed in 2022 and creating more than 6,400
new jobs. The cost of the trip is being paid through private donations to
the Indiana Economic Development Foundation.

RNC Launches 'Bank Your Vote' Initiative This week, Republican
National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel announced “Bank Your
Vote,” a nationwide campaign focused on maximizing pre-Election Day
voting.
The details: "Bank Your Vote" will encourage, educate, and
activate Republican voters on when, where, and how to lock in their
votes as early as possible, through in-person early voting, absentee
voting, and ballot harvesting where legal.
Building on Republicans'
absentee return rate, early in-person voting, and ballot harvesting
success in 2022, "Bank Your Vote" is the next step to improve the
overall number of pre-Election Day voters to ultimately secure victory
in 2024. What they're saying: The effort will be co-chaired by
Congressman Byron Donalds (FL-19) and U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty (TN).
"With innovative technology to educate voters and safeguards in place
to secure the process, Republicans are prepared to win up-and-down the
ballot in 2024," said Donalds. "To take back the White House and Senate
and strengthen our House majority in 2024, Republicans must play the
game by today’s rules, which means maximizing our efforts to bank votes
before Election Day," noted Hagerty. Take action:

Session Spotlight: SEA 4 This session, there were 252 bills
passed by the legislature and signed by Gov. Holcomb. Over the next
several weeks, this section will be dedicated to highlighting some of
those bills.
The bill: SB 4 (public health commission), signed May
4, 2023.
The details: SB 4 incentivizes counties to improve the
quality of services offered by their health departments through an
optional state-local funding partnership.
The funding would go toward
the implementation of “core public health services,” like screening for
childhood lead exposure, preventing tobacco use, and support for
student health, that will increase the quality and availability of
public health services for Hoosiers. The Latest from
